Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and meet the qualifying criteria for either CCHI or NBCMI certification exam.
Brief Description
This 20-hour Certificate of Attendance Intensive Online Review course will help prepare healthcare interpreters for both certification exams (CCHI and NBCMI) via a simulated environment with instant feedback. Students will have the opportunity to take an initial self-diagnostic and other online quizzes in the following areas of knowledge: test-taking techniques, interpreting standards, medical terminology, review of 11 main body systems, common illnesses and procedures, interpreter standards by IMIA, NCIHC and CHIA. Throughout the course students will be provided with video presentations and opportunities for guided self-assessment on reviewed modules that will help monitor progress.
This course was designed by a multidisciplinary team including healthcare interpreters and a physician.
